The MPG presents Keith Grant with a lifetime membership
February 17, 2010In honour of his truly legendary status in the UK music recording world, the Music Producers Guild (UK) has presented Keith Grant with a lifetime membership.
Keith has been recording music for over 50 years, and has earned the respect of many successful and talented record producers, engineers and recording artists.
It was a pleasure to see him at the recent MPG Awards event on Feb 11th, and we thank him for accepting the Joe Meek Award on behalf of the late Les Paul.
This message from Keith:
"To the Chairman and all members of MPG....
I am very honoured to have been presented with a lifetime membership, you should be aware this might be for another 40 years...I also thank you for the privilege of accepting Les Paul's Joe Meek award, particularly as I worked so much with him (Joe). We had many things in common, amongst those was having our career re-shaped by Royalty!! (We were both fired by Alan Stagg from IBC Studios in the 60s for being ‘ rebels' and for finding our own way in the recording world. I had a BTR 2 tape machine in the echo send for delay, and I was told to disconnect it as it didn't fit in with the way I was supposed to work!!)
Again I thank you.
Thank you
Keith Grant"
