Recently elected on the board of Executive Directors of the MPG, I am an independent UK based female producer. Currently working mostly out of my studio in Buckinghamshire, I have been in this business for over 30 years (obviously I started very very young!)
Following the early years of working as an aspiring artist myself, and one very short signing to a label, I formed my own production company in 1990, with ex A&M artist, Philip Jap, writing and producing loads of tracks for TV commericals, including many huge brands such as GE (General Electrics), Mazda, Aston Martin, Nestle, Mars, McDonalds, Batchelors, and many many more...
Aside from that, I went on to work on some other projects, which landed further recording and publishing deals. I co-wrote and co-produced an album for ZTT Artist Leilani, which saw 3 singles chart in the top 30. Another co-write/production (and singing on) project was a quirky track signed to Positiva, which sold over 55,000 singles and went to number 13 in the National Charts leading to a Top of The Pops appearance.
Another landmark for me was my arrangement and co-production on a track specially recorded for The Princess Diana Tribute Album, with opera singer Lesley Garrett and the English National Opera Orchestra.
I moved from my studio from London's Primrose Hill to my current location (on a Runway!) in Bucks, where I needed a large live room, to enable me to record bands. I went on to produce tracks for many new groups, including: Zero Point Field, Helium Soul, Alight, Hearts in Pencil - all of whom were self-funded, self-releasing artists, and all of whom saw their tracks get airplay on BBC Radio as well as many independent and regional plays, plus achieve some great reviews.
I am very philosophical about life and like to look outside the box in order to try and consider a wider scope of options, before saying what I believe to be right – in the studio, in business and in life in general. Whilst being mindful of people’s needs and feelings, I do like to speak my mind.
My Buzzwords: Intent - Potential - Truth.
I make it my mission as a producer to draw out from any artist or band the Intent (the soul of the artist/songs) and the Potential (the best it can be) to give it its best chance of success - believing one should always strive to be the best you can be. And as for Truth, be honest with yourself (and with me) - and we'll not only get on really well, but hopefully find the other two things really easily too.
