George Glennon
(October 26, 2011) Major song pitching to the bigs going on. Writing, arranging and recording. Still processing Scorsese's outstanding docu on George Harrison which has brought me back to why I ever wanted to be in studio in the first place. A complete inspiration of musical truth. GG
A 13 year member of the MPG going back to Re-Pro days, George is an American record producer that first came to London as a youngster to follow the paths of his heroes, being heavily influenced by British popular music and the greats that produced it. Along this journey he has made many friends and been mentored or advised by some of the greats including George Martin, Robin Millar, Richard Branson, and many at the EMI/Virgin Studios Group, having worked in some of their greatest studios.
George has extensive experience in dealing with major record labels and publishing in London over the last fifteen years or so and understands the differences large and small between the US and the UK marketplace. On record in the press as early as 1995 on the impact that digital distribution would have on our industry, George is outspoken and his opinion sought out by many on the issues that affect us as professionals in the business of recorded music. He is a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences Producers and Engineers Wing (NARAS) (Grammy.com) in the US.
He has a track record of opening his own wallet and putting his money on the line in searching for and developing brilliant, young, sustainable talent, that can knock an audience out of their seats in live performance.George will continue blogging/speaking on the current state of the business and the moves being made at labels large and small, smart and not so smart, that affect all of us as this revolution continues.
