Now celebrating its 60th anniversary, the Audio Engineering Society was formed in 1948 by a group of concerned audio engineers. With over 14,000 members throughout the U.S., Latin America, Europe, Japan and the Far East, the AES serves as the pivotal force in the exchange and dissemination of technical information for the industry.
AIM is a not-for-profit trade body established in 1999 to represent the UK independent music industry. Acting for over 90% of the independent market, and with over 800 members from small start-ups to the largest and most respected independents in the world, AIM promotes this exciting and diverse sector globally, leveraging the sector's power as a fifth major to enable its members to grow, grasp new opportunities and break into new markets.
The APRS promotes the highest standards of professionalism and quality within the audio industry. Its members are recording studios, post-production houses, mastering, replication and other music facilities and providers of education and training, as well as audio freelance engineers, manufacturers suppliers and consultants.

PPL is a music industry organisation collecting and distributing airplay and public performance royalties in the UK on behalf of over 3,500 record companies and 47,000 performers.
The Producers & Engineers Wing is the division of the Grammy Organisation in the U.S. which represents producers, engineers, remixers, manufacturers, technologists, and other related music recording industry professionals. It is comprised of more than 5,500 members.
