Chairman's Letter to new members (22.5.09)

Dear Professional,

It is with immense pleasure that I write to you as the recently elected chairman of the Music Producers Guild (UK): a non-profit association that represents the current interests of working record producers, engineers, mix engineers, mastering engineers, the essential key staff – the lifeblood of today’s music creation.

We would like to invite you to join us at the Music Producers Guild, and we are particularly keen on inviting new up-and-coming individuals to join, along with the current working professionals. After all, our wealth of experience is wasted if we cannot meet you!

Along with the general MPG membership, I have worked in many recording studios in the UK and the rest of the world, whilst also working from my own home studio. I was also one of the first producers to embrace digital recording after many years of analogue recording. But I am not alone on that score.

You will discover many other producers and engineers at the MPG who also pioneer, use and embrace new technologies all of the time. The MPG experience can be very unique and useful in helping you make your own decisions with confidence.

We have many things in common, we record and we create, we work in similar environments most of the time. The opportunity to socialise and meet at the MPG events will help keep us all abreast of recent developments and have our opinions on our Professional audio sector heard and your enthusiasm supported!

Joining the MPG entitles you to many benefits including one-to-one contact with other working professionals, unique ‘members only’ events and a bespoke web page for your CV and audio show reel, searchable by clients and employees. See more here: http://www.mpg.org.uk/about

Please consider joining the MPG ( http://www.mpg.org.uk/register ).

We are increasingly having a voice in many areas such as education, and policy decisions. If you wish to be heard please consider also joining our unique user group, the very ‘vocal’ and respected voice of the MPG. It might even progress your career! It might also relay invaluable advice towards your own career goals.

The MPG is a very supportive Professional network. I am confident you could benefit enormously from joining us.

I sincerely hope to see you soon!

Steve Levine (MPG Chairman)
