Well, it's 10 months now since I stepped down from the MPG Chair and moved to Brisbane and it seems like no time at all, and also like an age... it's been a pretty full on year, mind you.

I came back to the UK after a month here and played some gigs with Gong in Norway, the USA, finis...

Should the BBC abandon its plan to shut down BBC 6 Music?

Can anyone recommend an audio interface, preferably firewire, that has more than 2ins 2outs and anyone had any bad experiences with a particular interface. I'm running Logic on a MacBook Pro 2.6Ghz Intel Core Duo with 4GB memory so relatively limited CPU.ThanksBlue

Whilst it is very sad that Abbey Road is up for sale - should we perhaps avoid the outpouring of emotional hand wringing and just accept that this was the inevitable result of the greed and stupidity of speculators who hopefully will go off and bottom feed somewhere else? It was never a matter of...

I stumbled upon these photos in the house the other day. I have no information about this studio or the two guys in the second photo. Does anyone recognise it (or them)?

Click here to view the photos....

This was announced at Midem and there was an unbelievably sycophantic, cloying interview with the guy.God help us if this guy is being favourably compared to Quincy Jones!
ps Hope this post isn't too contentious.

Has anyone used the new Digidesign Eleven Rack yet and if so what were the drawbacks and benefits? They claim it is a major improvement on a POD regardless of the Pro Tools interface but I haven't met anyone who's used it yet.

Andrew Hall seems to be a person who not only has a sensible approach to the problems of copyright infringement, but is also prepared to act on his convictions.

He has recently resigned from the BPI Rights Committee, and will do the same from the International Federation Of The Phonogr...

The role of the producer has indeed changed dramatically since the invention of the recording.

Hearing Ken Scott on the APRS event  talking about the past it seemed that the producer’s job was very similar to a more technical job. The producers had families and it was more o...

Does anybody else feel that the vultures in the music business circling around an artist's publishing share is really distasteful? One of the albums I've finished recently even involves the A+R guy getting a cut of the artist's publishing and he didn't even know what songs were on the album until...

Have any Logic 8 users updated Mac OSX to Snow Leopard? Are there any issues? Are there any advantages? I'm not sure whether to upgrade or not. I don't want to ruin my setup!! Are there any compatibility issues with other software (ie BFD 2)? Thanks
