Who do we represent and who may join?

The Music Producers Guild (UK) welcomes you to its dedicated web-site, which has been specifically created in order to provide full and relevant services to all MPG members by supplying a forum for debate and networking, aceess to the latest news, and announcements of up-coming MPG special events.
There is a reference section, the Knowledge Bank, which contains a mine of useful information relevant to the production of all recorded music and associated professional interests that are of use to all our members.
The Members' Directory is openly available to non-members, who may use it to search for producers, engineers, mixers, etc. and make contact with those they feel may be able to provide the professional services they require. Access to the Members' Directory is available here or by clicking on the "Members Directory" tab, above.

The Music Producers Guild (UK) is an independent and democratic organisation that encourages the highest standards of music production, and actively engages with other music industry organisations to campaign and lobby on matters of important mutual interest.
The MPG represents and promotes the interests of all those involved in the production of recorded music, including producers, engineers, mixers, re-mixers, programmers and mastering engineers.
It is a dynamic, professional and creative member organisation that has a serious voice to government and industry alike. As a vibrant group, it is mainly concerned with record-making and recording techniques for all genres of music and media related activities in the UK. Collectively, the membership's combined output and footprint of commercial recorded works is huge.
Additonally, the MPG has very strong links to education (via J.A.M.E.S.) and cutting-edge manufacturers of new technologies who all help shape tomorrow's standards and trends in today's sophisticated UK recording environment.
The MPG is a fully inclusive and representative organisation with an effective and transparent infrastructure, in line with other music industry bodies. As a working industry group, the MPG sets and maintains the highest standards and values of our collective industry.
A quote from Paul Rodgers, head of BBC Radio 2:
"I think the MPG makes a very valuable statement about primacy of the producer's craft and its benefits at any stage in an artist's development."
Who is it for and who can join?
The MPG is for everyone involved in the production of music and sound in all media, from student trainees through to working professionals. You are welcome to join and add your voice and expertise to the wealth of UK talent already signed up with the MPG!
